This painting was made to replicate a specific memory I had of riding in the car on a way to a NYE party. I wanted to depict a transient moment of joy, particularly during a time of change such as celebrating the New Year. I especially wanted to portray something that would encapsulate my teen years, and the ever changing whirlwind it has been. I made this piece semi monochromatic purple, working with teals and pinks as well to contribute to the dreamlike quality of this memory.
